The APS11000/060 family of Hall-effect switches are designed for operation from batteries or unregulated supplies in harsh automotive and industrial environments. The 11000 devices are conventional planar Hall-Effect sensors that respond to magnetic flux perpendicular to the face of the package; the 11060 devices feature a vertical Hall-effect sensing element that is sensitive to magnetic flux parallel to the face of the IC package. This provides for a wide range of mounting and system packaging options.
These ICs are qualified to AEC-Q100 Grade 0. They can tolerate up to 40V and junction temperature up to 175°C. In addition, they are internally protected against over-voltage, reverse-battery, load-dump, output short-circuits, human-body-model ESD up to ±11kV, and other common automotive EMC conditions.
APS11000/060 family devices come preconfigured with your choice of magnetic sensitivity thresholds, and polarity; there is also a choice of active-high or active-low output for ease of integration into electronic subsystems.
They are available in either of two package styles:package type LH is a modified 3-pin SOT23W surface mount package, while package type UA is a 3-pin ultra-mini SIP for through-hole mounting. Both packages are lead (Pb) free, with 100% matte-tin-plated leadframes.
For power-sensitive applications, the APS11700/760 offer the same features and performance with built-in, automatic power management for average supply currents as low as 6µA.
APS11000/060 were developed in accordance with ISO 26262:2011 as a hardware safety element out of context with ASIL A capability (pending confirmation) for use in automotive safety-related systems when integrated and used in the manner prescribed in the applicable safety manual and datasheet.
