Packaging

The ARG81403 is power management IC that uses a 2.2MHz synchronous buck pre-regulator to efficiently convert automotive battery voltages into tightly regulated intermediate voltages, complete with control, diagnostics, and protections. The pre-regulator output supplies two 5V / 100mA tracking/ protected LDOs, a 3.3V / 150mA LDO, a 5V / 30 mA LDO, and an adjustable output synchronous buck regulator (1.275V or 1.25VTYP / 1600mA).

The ARG81403 implements three channels of 2-wire speed (rotational) sensor IOs with a dedicated VIN terminal and seven channels of level shifter interfaces. The ARG81403 contains a selectable watchdog (single-ended timer and window timer) that can be programmed to accept a wide range of clock frequencies. The watchdog timer has a fixed activation delay to accommodate processor startup. The watchdog function has an enable/disable pin (active low, WDENn) to facilitate initial factory programming or field reflash programming.
