The A31301 3DMAG position sensor IC is a flexible magnetic sensor capable of measuring the raw field strength in any 1, 2, or 3 axes as well as calculating the angle in up to any 2 user defined planes for measuring rotary, linear, or joystick motion of a nearby magnet.
The A31301 comes in 3 standard field configurations of ±600G, ±1400G, or ±2000G. The magnetic temperature coefficient (TC) is customer programmable, with a factory default trim for Neodymium magnets enabling stable measurement over temperature.
The A31301 supports 2 different digital interfaces for ease of use: 4-wire SPI or I2C. For high speed applications, the SPI can operate up to 10MHz and the I2C interface can operate up to 1MHz. The I2C address can be set by external resistors (16 unique addresses) or can be programmed into EEPROM via I2C (127 unique addresses), allowing for multiple devices on the same bus.
Power management of the A31301 is highly configurable, allowing for system-level optimization of supply current and performance. Sleep mode consumes just 2.5µA (typical), further extending runtime in battery operated devices.
The A31301 is supplied in a 3 mm × 3 mm × 0.8 mm, 10-contact DFN package (“EJ”). This small footprint package is lead (Pb) free, with 100 % matte-tin leadframe plating.
